Biography
Tom Severino studied piano at the conservatories of Lisbon and Faro, and in the Jazz Hot Club, in Lisbon.
In the '80s he worked for EMI-Records and Vidisco-Records/EMI-Studios, in Lisbon, as composer, arranger and producer.
He performed in several television programs in Lisbon and Amsterdam.
He studied harmony and improvisation with Dutch pianist Rob Madna.
In 2005 he and his son Alex started the Stepping Stones. This project was presented live in May 2006 at the renowned Deer Head Inn, Delaware Water Gap, Pennsylvania, USA, where Keith Jarrett recorded for ECM.
Alex Severino started studying music at the age of 11.
At 17 he started his studies of jazz guitar as an autodidact and of harmony with his father, Tom.
From 19 on, he has been performing with his father in various ensembles.
In 2005 he and Tom started the Stepping Stones.
Inês Severino, started singing in public at the age of 14 when she won her school’s song festival. She took part in the festival three times, always with remarkable success. Since then she has sung regularly with her father and brother.
She impresses her audiences with her warm and smooth voice. Recently she started contributing to the Stepping Stones.

He has taught at all the main conservatories in Holland and given workshops in France, Finland, Belgium, Costa Rica, Panamá, Germany, Japan, etc.
He has played/recorded/toured with most professional latin jazz and salsa bands as guest, or shared the stage with names such as: New Cool Collective, Rebeca Mauleon, Jesse van Ruller, Trijntje Oosterhuis, Candy Dulfer, Luis Conte, Victor Bailey, Eddie Palmieri, etc.
Enrique Firpi is one of the most popular drummers in homeland Uruguay since his professional career started at the age of 14.
Living in Holland since 1987 he has been working with artists such as: Josee Koning, Laura Fygi, Leonardo Amuedo and Deborah J. Carter, etc.
He is also guest teacher at Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Utrecht conservatories.
